UD Trucks joined the Isuzu Group in 2021, and Isuzu East Africa is the authorised assembler and retailer in Kenya. The Quester is its heavy-duty range: 7.7-litre GH8E and 10.8-litre GH11E engines from 330 to 460 hp, in rigid and 6x4 tractor form, with the ESCOT-E twelve-speed automated manual on the upper ratings. Built for operators who measure a truck in fuel burn per tonne-kilometre rather than list price.

Buying an UD Quester in Kenya
Is UD Trucks related to Isuzu?
Yes. UD Trucks became part of the Isuzu Group in April 2021, and Isuzu East Africa is the authorised assembler and retailer of UD Trucks in Kenya. That means UD Quester owners are supported by the same Isuzu dealer network.
What is ESCOT-E on the UD Quester?
ESCOT-E is UD's twelve-speed automated manual transmission, rated to 2,600 Nm. It removes clutch operation entirely and adds ECO mode, ECO-Roll for coasting down gradients under cruise control, PWR+ for construction work, and Brake Max for engine-brake descent.
What is the difference between the Euro 3 and Euro 5 Quester?
Euro 5 variants use Selective Catalytic Reduction, injecting AdBlue into the exhaust to cut nitrogen oxides by around 60% against Euro 3 and particulates by 80%. AdBlue consumption runs at roughly 4 to 5% of diesel used. Euro 3 variants need no AdBlue.
Which Quester models are sold in Kenya?
Seven variants: the CKE 4x2 rigid in 330 hp Euro 3 and 350 hp Euro 5, the CWE 6x4 rigid at 34 tonnes, and the GWE 6x4 tractor in 350, 420, 440 and 460 hp. The wider global range includes configurations not brought into Kenya.
