Thika Motor Dealers (K) Ltd started in Thika's industrial area with backing from ICDC and local banks. Four decades later it is a lead Isuzu East Africa dealer covering the Eastern region and greater Mt. Kenya.

History
Four decades, one business
TMD was established in 1981 in Thika's industrial area, backed by the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation and local banks. In 1989 the company became an authorised General Motors dealer — the relationship that grew into its present role as a lead dealer for Isuzu East Africa.
Isuzu East Africa named TMD Best of the Best Dealer in 2024, with first place in both Vehicle Sales and Parts Sales at that year's Isuzu Grand Prix. Manufacturer awards of that kind are won on service standards and parts availability, not on volume alone.
Today the company employs 300 people directly and supports roughly 300 more indirectly, operating 6 branches: Thika, Ruaka, Athi River, Machakos, Kitui, Karatina.

Genuine Isuzu parts stocked at every branch, with inter-branch transfer for the rest. A truck waiting for a filter is a truck not earning.
